I've been away...Again.

Where have I been? Oh here and there.

And I know I owe you answers to the questions that I aggressively made you ask me.

But I simply had to share something. I went to access my account at Equity, and was told that it had been "frozen" because there had been no activity for five months. Had they written to inform me? Of course not. Just waited 'til I needed some cash... then they gave me this form to fill out.

First of all, I have to give a reason why I haven't "operated" my account? What if I'd wanted to SAVE MY MONEY??

And then - wow - the manager writes some "remarks" and can then "Approve" or "Decl.." sorry, "Deline" me access to my money?

That's it. I'm starting my own damned bank.

How could I not have these firsties??

KC, you have to convince us that you are capable of handling this money properly before we can give it to you. I mean, what if you go and spend it on something like iPods or shoes or charcoal or something.

Tell us you will buy stock in our company and we will give you your money back. Your move.

I have my misgiving about equity, there are too many customers at any one time they might just have forgotten about you, so you need to remind them that you really exist.

I am DEEPLY suspicious of Equity. Whenever I pass a branch I am always pleasantly surprised to see that it has not overnight been converted into a butchery

At least Equity made u blog again....there's the silver lining incase u were looking for.

When u say u're starting your own bank...does that have anything to do with the one under your pillow?

It's outrageous when a bank won't let you access your own money. They take our hard earned money, make tons on interest on it, then charge us for every little service.

why do Kenyans like complaining about every small thing. have you asked equity why they froze your money? banks have in the past had people turning up claiming monies for their relas as in they know you are out of the country and come to claim they are kg.

i work for one myself but maybe you can continue saving at equity or you may come for expertise when opening yours. i'll be glad to be your banks ceo.
shareholder no. 1 please...your say

i have a bank account with Bank of Queensland (that's the state I live in, great name huh? eurgh) which has only AUD 8 cents in it. it's been like that since late 2004 and the account still works, not that i've actually used it, in fact they still send me those pesky letters to show what I've been doing with my account each month. needless to say my letters are very short.

whose bank is dumber, yours or mine?

I thought upward mobile kenyan chicks dont go to banks like equity-I'm so suspicious I wouldnt drop my coin there. But even so, Standchart pulled a fast one on me, froze my account and then asked me to re-apply for my money-that was the last they saw of me. It didnt help that it was one of those days one must have cash or die
